Kim Le Court-Pienaar won the Lloyds Tour of Britain Women 2026, finishing atop the general classification ahead of Lorena Wiebes in second and Liane Lippert in third.

That final podium says a lot about how the race was decided. Wiebes won four of the five stages and also took the points classification, but Le Court-Pienaar still came out ahead overall. In a five-day race where every stage was listed as hilly and none was marked as a summit finish, the GC was not decided by a single high-mountain test. It was decided by who could convert the harder terrain into time while limiting losses across the rest of the week.

The decisive split in the race

Wiebes opened with victory on Stage 1, the 158.9 km Cockermouth to Cockermouth hilly stage, then doubled up on Stage 2 from Clitheroe to Blackpool. That gave the race a clear early pattern: Wiebes was repeatedly turning hilly road stages into winning opportunities.

The key interruption came on Stage 3, the 104.7 km stage from Mold to The Great Orme. It was the only stage not won by Wiebes, with the data listing the winner as [[Kimberley Le Court. Given the final GC, that stage was the hinge of the race. Le Court-Pienaar did not need to match Wiebes for stage wins across the week; she needed one decisive GC-shaping day, then enough control over the final two hilly stages to keep the overall lead intact.

Wiebes dominated the stage count, but not the GC

Wiebes came back immediately after Stage 3, winning Stage 4 from Llanidloes to Hay-on-Wye and Stage 5 in Royal Leamington Spa. Four stage wins from five and the points jersey underline how consistently she was the fastest finisher in the race.

But the final classification shows the difference between winning stages and winning the overall. On a route made entirely of hilly stages, a rider can dominate reduced or selective finishes and still lose the GC if one day creates a bigger overall separation. Le Court-Pienaar's race was built around that balance: decisive enough on the key day, resilient enough everywhere else.

Jersey winners

Lorena Wiebes won the points classification, a logical outcome after taking Stages 1, 2, 4 and 5.

Lauren Dickson won the mountains classification, while Fleur Moors took the youth classification.

The final read is straightforward: Wiebes was the dominant stage winner, but Le Court-Pienaar won the race that mattered most. In a short WorldTour stage race, one correctly timed GC move can outweigh a week of repeat stage victories, and that is what separated the overall winner from the most prolific winner of the week.
