Reinderink wins stage 3 as Piganzoli takes race lead in Luxembourg

Pepijn Reinderink won stage 3 of the Skoda Tour de Luxembourg, finishing the 179.6 km hilly stage from Wiltz to Diekirch ahead of Davide Piganzoli and Thomas Gachignard.

The stage was not a summit finish, but the result still split apart in the finale. Reinderink reached Diekirch first for SOQ, with Piganzoli and Gachignard both recorded one second back. That small gap matters because it shows the front of the race was decided by a narrow selection rather than a reduced bunch sprint.

The race breaks into layers

Behind the first three, Mattéo Vercher finished fourth at four seconds, keeping TEN with two riders inside the top four. Igor Arrieta was next at 11 seconds, followed by Sam Oomen at 17 seconds.

From there, the gaps widened in steps. Eike Behrens and Aurélien Paret-Peintre came in at 23 seconds, while Tijmen Graat and Lukas Nerurkar were both 38 seconds down. On a hilly stage, that kind of spread is usually the real tell: even without a summit finish, the terrain was selective enough to separate the strongest finishers from the next groups.

GC impact

The biggest GC consequence is Piganzoli. He finished second on the stage, just one second behind Reinderink, and is the GC leader after stage 3.
