How device connections work

Connect a bike computer or wearable once and your rides, recovery data, routes and workouts move on their own.

Updated 2026-10-15

What this is for

Devices & apps is where you link NeverChill to your bike computer, watch or health app. You connect once. After that, finished rides and recovery data arrive by themselves, and routes and workouts can go straight back to your device.

This article explains what a connection does, what is free, and what to expect after you connect.

Before you start

  • You need a NeverChill account.
  • You need an account with the device maker (for example, your Hammerhead or Wahoo account).
  • Bike computers are free. Wearables and health apps (recovery and sleep) need NeverChill Pro. See Free vs Pro.

Where to find it

  • On the web: In the top bar, open the More menu, choose Account settings, then choose Devices & apps under Integrations. You can also go straight to neverchill.com/settings/integrations.
  • In the app: Tap Me, tap the settings gear, then tap Devices & apps under Integrations. The NeverChill mobile app is in beta (TestFlight on iPhone, a preview build on Android).

What you see on the page

Each device has a row with its status and what it can do:

  • Ready to connect or Available now: you can connect it today.
  • Connected: it is linked and syncing.
  • Coming soon or On hold: you can't connect it yet.
  • Upgrade to Pro: it needs NeverChill Pro.

Chips show what each connection handles: Ride sync, Route sync, Workout sync, Recovery sync, Automatic sync and Phone health sync.

On the web you can filter the list by All, Bike computers, Apps & services, Connected and Wearables. In the app the list is split into Available, Coming soon and Connected.

How connecting works

  1. Open Devices & apps and pick your device.
  2. Tap or click Connect.
  3. Sign in to your device account and allow access.
  4. In the app, you'll see Connect followed by the device name and to this account? Check the NeverChill account shown, then tap Continue in the app. If it isn't your account, tap This isn't my account and nothing is connected.
  5. Back on Devices & apps, the device shows Connected - waiting for the first sync until the first ride or record arrives.

What happens after you connect

  • New rides arrive on their own. Finish your ride and it lands in NeverChill. Some devices send it right away, others are checked on a schedule, so a short delay is normal.
  • Past rides: you can bring in history with Import past rides on the web or Import history in the app, where the device supports it.
  • Recovery data (sleep, recovery, strain) arrives from wearables if you have Pro.
  • Routes and workouts can go to bike computers that support it. See Send routes and workouts to your bike computer.
  • No duplicates. If the same ride comes in from two places, or you reconnect, NeverChill matches it and keeps one ride.
  • Uploaded files and synced rides get the same analysis.

What you can connect today

  • Bike computers (free): Hammerhead Karoo and Wahoo.
  • Health and wearables (Pro): Apple Health (iPhone app), Health Connect (Android app), Polar and WHOOP.

Other devices show as Coming soon or On hold in the list.

Troubleshooting

  • The device isn't in the list. It may not be available on your account yet. You may see This integration is not available on your account.
  • It says Upgrade to Pro. Wearable recovery and sleep are part of NeverChill Pro.
  • A ride didn't show up. See Troubleshoot device sync.

Still stuck? In the app, go to Settings and tap Report a bug or idea under Help. On the web, choose Send feedback from the More menu.
