Storm Ingebrigtsen wins Stage 4 as Van Aert leads in Denmark

Storm Ingebrigtsen won Stage 4 of the PostNord Tour of Denmark, taking the 172.6 km hilly stage from Rudkøbing to Faaborg for UXM men in 3h 46' 46s.

The key point is that this was not a summit finish, so the decisive move had to be more than a final uphill acceleration. On a hilly stage without the finish line sitting on top of the final climb, any winning separation still has to survive the run-in. Ingebrigtsen did exactly that, reaching Faaborg 15 seconds ahead of the first chasers.

How the stage was decided

For Ingebrigtsen, the win was built on converting that terrain into a gap and then holding it through the closing kilometres into Faaborg.
