My activity says Processing
Why a new ride shows Processing for a while and what to do if it doesn't finish.
Updated 2026-10-15
What this is for
When a ride arrives, NeverChill reads the file and works out your map, splits, power, heart rate and other stats. While that happens the ride shows as processing. In the app you'll see Processing….
Before you start
Processing usually finishes on its own. Large files and big imports (like a Strava archive) take longer.
What you'll see
- In the app, the ride shows Processing… until it's done.
- Some actions wait until processing finishes.

Steps
- Wait a few minutes, then refresh the page or pull down to refresh in the app.
- If you imported a lot of rides at once, give it more time. They're processed in turn.
- If an upload doesn't finish, NeverChill retries it automatically after about a minute, and again after about five minutes.
- If it still can't finish, you'll see This upload could not finish. Please upload the file again. In the app the ride shows Couldn't process this file. Upload the file again. See Upload a FIT, GPX or TCX file.
- If the same file keeps failing, report it (see below) and include the ride link.
Troubleshooting
- The ride has no map. Indoor rides and some files have no GPS. That's normal.
- The upload itself failed. See Upload a FIT, GPX or TCX file.
Still stuck? In the app, go to Settings and tap Report a bug or idea under Help. On the web, choose Send feedback from the More menu.
