Van der Poel wins Tour finale in Paris as Pogačar finishes in yellow

Mathieu van der Poel won Stage 21 of the Tour de France 2026 in Paris, taking the final flat stage ahead of APT teammate Jasper Philipsen, with Mads Pedersen third on the same time.

The 88.7 km Paris-to-Paris stage was listed as flat, and with no stage climbs provided, the tactical shape was straightforward: there was no climbing terrain available to force meaningful separation before the finish. That matters because, on a closing stage like this, the absence of selective terrain usually keeps the race compressed and shifts the outcome toward positioning and timing in the final kilometres rather than attrition earlier in the day.

Van der Poel’s winning time was 1h 58' 49', with the rest of the top ten all recorded on the same time. Philipsen made it an APT one-two, while Pedersen, Max Kanter, Olav Kooij, Matej Mohorič, Rick Pluimers, Anthony Turgis, Milan Fretin, and Clément Russo filled out the top ten without any time separation.
