Why is it called Breakaway?
A breakaway in cycling is the small group that goes off the front of the peloton early and rides on its own. That is the metaphor. Breakaway members are the small group out front of Neverchill - paying early, voting on what gets built, riding at the sharp end while the rest of the field is still rolling. Once 500 riders are off the front, the gap closes and the tier shuts.
What happens when 500 spots are gone?
The tier closes. Permanently. We will not reopen it. Pro at $15/mo (rising to $20+ at launch) becomes the only paid path.
If I cancel, can I rejoin later?
No. Once you cancel, your slot returns to nobody - we leave the cap intact. The slot just disappears. This is on purpose: it keeps the badge meaningful.
Does my $249 lock in forever?
Yes - for the life of your subscription. Cancel and the lock-in goes with you. Renew every year and you stay at $249 even when Pro hits $20-25/mo.
When does this actually launch?
Breakaway goes live with the public launch (target Q3 2026). You reserve your spot now via the waitlist with intent flagged; we will email you when we open Stripe and you charge through then.
Are there team or coach pricing variants?
Breakaway is per-person. Coaches who want Breakaway status need their own seat. The Coach plan ($25/athlete/mo) handles coaching billing separately.
Can companies expense it?
Yes. We will issue a single-page invoice to your business with VAT/EIN handling. Email us once your slot is reserved.
What if Neverchill folds?
Honest answer: you lose the subscription. We are running this lean and we expect to ship - but we are not VCs and we will not promise lifetime guarantees we cannot back. We commit to: a full data export, 90 days of read-only access, and an honest post-mortem if it happens.
